Ariane Lapointe (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist based in “vancouver” bc.
She has been creating since she was a child, from music to photography, then drawing and painting. She holds a Graphic Design degree from CEGEP de Rivière-du-Loup (QC).
After moving to Vancouver in 2016, Ariane began her tattoo practice, starting with simple handpokes on friends, moving into more intricate pieces and compositions once she transitioned to machine. She has now been tattooing for more than 8 years.
Long term art history fan, her style constantly evolves based on different art movements. She is currently exploring color within fauvism, impressionism & expressionism. She is also inspired by old woodblock illustrations and french embroidered patterns.
While focusing on tattooing, she also has a painting practice that leans towards abstract expressionism. This helps balance their creativity while tattooing. Alongside painting on canvas, she uses wood as a support for freedom of shapes.
She still uses her graphic design degree to design posters for local shows, branding for restaurants and illustrations for magazines.
Ariane’s work has been described as whimsical, flowy, magical & dreamy.
She likes light, movement, and the shadows trees cast on the sidewalks.
